NOOSPHERIC TELEMETRY
Command console
Declare your armaments and targets. The cogitator awaits your command.

Attack allocation
RITE OF ATTACK ORDER
Declare the sequence with the arrows: units first, then weapons within each unit. The cogitator resolves numbered steps from top to bottom.
RITE OF TARGET ASSESSMENT
Target assessment
One volley. Every possible target.
Assess all targets
EXACTUses the calculation method selected in the command console.
Fill + percentage = model kill probability. Models follow casualty allocation order.
The same volley is assessed separately against each unit's current survivors and defenses. Your assignments and battle ledger stay unchanged.

Results
Consult the divination: damage, casualties and the efficacy of each armament.
The machine spirit awaits
Assign weapons in the command console, then invoke calculation to obtain the damage and casualty forecast.
Probability distribution
RITE OF INDIVIDUAL CASUALTIES
Model kill probabilities
The cogitator marks each model’s fate. Fill height shows its chance to be killed by all assigned attacks.
Previous divination shown. Recalculate to include changed profiles and attack orders.
Reading the casualty display
Models follow starting casualty priority. Within each group, #1 is its first casualty, #2 its second, and so on. A model’s percentage is the chance of killing at least that many models in its own group.
These probabilities share the same engagement and are not independent rolls. Wounded models and mixed profiles are included; Precision can kill a character before its bodyguards. Exact mode enumerates these chances; Monte Carlo estimates them from trial frequencies.
Outlines represent faction identity. Choose a faction silhouette in the unit editor, or override it for a model group, if automatic detection is uncertain.
COGITATOR FORECAST
How is the 90% range calculated?
The cogitator adds the probability of each wounds-lost outcome, from lowest to highest.
- Lower bound (5th percentile): the first outcome where the cumulative probability reaches at least 5%.
- Upper bound (95th percentile): the first outcome where the cumulative probability reaches at least 95%.
Both endpoints count. At most 5% of the probability lies on each side of the range. Whole-number outcomes can make its coverage exceed 90%. Outcomes outside the range can still occur.
Exact mode uses enumerated probabilities; Monte Carlo uses trial frequencies, so its bounds are estimates. The same method applies to the models-killed range on the chart.

Damage accounting
Wounds lost count damage actually applied. Excess damage from an attack is discarded when its model is destroyed.
Weapon breakdown
Each profile against the same fresh target. Combined casualties account for previous damage and overkill.

ATTACK SEQUENCE
Rite of attack resolution
Resolve units in the declared order, and weapons in their numbered order within each unit. Pool only consecutive identical attacks against the same target. Previous wounds and casualties carry forward.
- Gather attacks
Roll random Attacks separately for each weapon copy. Add enabled Rapid Fire, Blast and Cleave attacks. Pool consecutive identical attacks made by the same unit against the same target.
- Resolve hits and wounds
Apply BS/WS, Strength versus Toughness, critical thresholds and the selected reroll policy. Sustained Hits adds hits; Lethal Hits can skip the wound roll for the original critical hit.
- Roll and order saves
Resolve raw save faces from lowest to highest, applying the current group's armour or invulnerable save. A natural 1 fails. Continue into the next group as models die.
- Apply damage
Roll damage per unsaved attack, apply selected normal-damage defenses and Feel No Pain. Discard overkill. Resolve Devastating Wounds after normal damage; each critical wound can damage only one model.
11TH EDITION
Defenses & attached units
Cover worsens the attack's BS by 1 for ranged attacks unless it ignores cover. It does not improve an armour save. Stealth can be represented by enabling cover.
While bodyguards remain, wound rolls use their highest Toughness. Otherwise, they use the highest Toughness of the surviving characters. Toughness is evaluated before each batch's wound rolls.
The engine prioritises wounded bodyguard groups, then other bodyguards, then wounded characters, then other characters. Your edited group order breaks ties. Each CHARACTER group contains one model.
Precision can select one visible character group for normal attacks. Confirm visibility yourself. Mortal-wound allocation follows the core body's priority.
Calibrate rule effects
Use the effective characteristic and roll modifiers in the profile editor for faction abilities, detachments and stratagems. Ability prose is not automatically interpreted. Apply any rule-specific limits to the values you enter.
PROBABILITY CANTICLE
Exact enumeration & simulation
Exact mode enumerates discrete probabilities and surviving-model states. No Monte Carlo sampling or probability-tail truncation is used. The 90% range runs from the 5th to the 95th percentile.
Monte Carlo mode samples the same declared engagement for the selected trial count. Values are estimates; results show their trial count. Use it for larger engagements that exceed the exact-work budget.
Rite of the 90% range
For either wounds lost or models killed, add probabilities from the lowest outcome upward. The lower bound is the first outcome with cumulative probability at least 5%; the upper bound is the first with cumulative probability at least 95%.
The interval includes both bounds and contains at least 90% of the calculated probability. Discrete outcomes can make coverage higher than 90%. It describes variation in a single engagement’s outcomes.
For example, if 0 wounds has 96% probability and 1 wound has 4%, both percentile bounds are 0. The range is 0–0 wounds and contains 96% of the probability; the 1-wound outcome remains possible.
Per-weapon results are evaluated against the original target state. They cannot simply be added to predict combined kills. Units resolve in the attacking roster order; weapon batches follow the order of their first assignment.
Bounds of the divination
This cogitator forecasts declared attacks in one phase. Confirm range, line of sight and eligibility at the table. Movement, reactions, reanimation, resurrection, Hazardous damage to attackers and battle outcomes lie beyond this divination.
For split melee attacks, use fixed attack counts. Extra Attacks can be enabled as separate profiles. If Cleave is conditional on a single target, use weapon-copy mode.
